Whether you want a next level-cup of joe or a Cal-Ital spread fit for a king, we’ve got you covered with October’s best new restaurants.

Fia

This indoor-outdoor Cal-Ital spot from chef Brendan Collins seats 300, but the charming space feels much more intimate with various rooms and nooks, a bocce court, and trees aplenty. Tara John, a Wally’s alum, oversees the wine program, and some delightfully funky options—from both boutique Californian and Italian producers—are available by the glass. 2454 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica

Bee Taqueria

Chef Alex Carrasco, formerly of Osteria Mozza and Scratch Bar, brings a touch of fine dining to this colorful taco stand, where he’s even nixtamalizing his own corn for the house-made tortillas. The tinga betabel—with beets subbing for chicken—is satisfying and complex, while the crispy Media Luna, stuffed with finely chopped shrimp and scallops and served with shrimp consommé for dipping, is a crunchy winner. 5754 W. Adams Blvd.,West Adams.

Verve Roastery del Sur

The Santa Cruz coffee maestro has expanded its L.A. presence with a massive, 7,000-square-foot flagship roastery and restaurant. A craft coffee bar serves up nonalcoholic beverages far beyond basic lattes, including an old-fashioned made with a concentrated flash brew and a java-centric negroni. 500 Mateo St., Arts District.
